NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 02/27/15 -- wot.io, the leading data service exchange for connected device platforms, today announced its recognition in two prestigious round-ups of top innovative Internet of Things (IoT) technology companies.
wot.io was named as one of ABI Research's Hot Tech Innovators in a report released earlier this month. In it, the market intelligence firm identifies and analyzes 113 of the most innovative companies operating in today's global markets. "If you are working for a company sitting comfortably in the bird seat of any tech market, these are the companies you need to have on your radar," Stuart Carlaw, Chief Research Officer at ABI Research said in a statement.
Of wot.io, the report said, "wot.io is probably doing the best of any company offering the 'Internet of Services' for the Internet of Things in a platform fashion... The importance of wot.io is evident as it helps to drive the complexity out of IoT solution creation."
wot.io was also chosen by IoT Nexus for its "Power Players in the Internet of Things" report, also published in February. The research firm surveyed hundreds of professionals in the IoT space to uncover which companies are truly powerful and innovative in the eyes of their industry peers and to identify those firms that are "driving the market forward and where innovation is coming from." wot.io was ranked #7 on the report's list of Top 50 IoT Companies.
The top 10 IoT companies included Cisco, Intel, Google, ARM, SeeControl, Sigfox, IBM, GE, and Spark.io.
"It is gratifying to be acknowledged by both these industry thought leaders," said Allen Proithis, wot.io President and Founder. "This recognition validates our strategy of providing an integrated marketplace of ecosystem partners which add significant value to connected data while lowering risk, cost, and time-to-market by removing technical and business hurdles. This enables our customers to focus on extracting value from their IoT data. We are pleased to see our approach gaining momentum and acceptance in the industry."
