NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 04/09/15 -- Canary, the record-breaking, all-in-one home security device, is proud to announce its status as a 2015 Red Dot Award and 2015 iF Award winner.

For more than 60 years, the Red Dot and iF award panels have been known around the world as arbiters of outstanding achievements in design. Each jury is comprised of internationally-renowned design experts and is highly selective; in both instances, the experts of the Red Dot and iF juries hand-picked Canary from a pool of nearly 5,000 entrants.

"We redesigned home security with the overall experience in mind," said James Krause, Canary's lead industrial designer. "Our design decisions have no bias towards the hardware or software, but an understanding and consideration of both. The result is a product that is highly effective, aesthetically beautiful, and fits easily into people's lives." This marks Krause's second Red Dot win; he was also honored in 2013 for his work on the MC40 Retail Mobile Computer.

Canary will be celebrated at the Red Dot Gala in June, and exhibited in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen thereafter. It will also be featured in one of three subsequent special shows in the iF design exhibition in Hamburg, Germany.

The Red Dot Award was created by Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen and with around 17,000 entries each year is one of the best-respected design competitions in the world. In 2015, it is celebrating its 60th anniversary: It was in 1955 that a jury convened for the first time to assess the best designs of the day. The sought-after award, the "Red Dot", is the revered international seal of outstanding design quality.
