SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 04/21/15 -- Midokura, a global startup focused on network virtualization, today announced Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Version 6 certification for the latest version of Midokura Enterprise MidoNet (MEM), a scalable network virtualization solution designed for Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) clouds. The certification enables customers to deploy the latest MEM technology on the newest version of OpenStack with confidence, from start to finish, armed with Midokura and Red Hat's easy, multi-vendor collaborative support.
"We are pleased to announce that the latest Midokura Enterprise MidoNet technology is now certified for Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 6, which brings Red Hat's award-winning and trusted technology to Midokura customers," said Adam Johnson, VP of business for Midokura. "Our users already benefit from Midokura's 'follow-the-sun' support, which comprises of unwavering, enterprise-grade 24/7 assistance from product evaluation to finish, from the same Midokura engineers that contribute to the leading open source OpenStack project. Sharing our dedication to providing awesome support, Red Hat is the logical choice in a partner for Midokura."
Announced in February, the latest MEM solution creates an intelligent, software-based network abstraction layer between the hosts and the physical network, by decoupling the IaaS cloud from the network hardware. Today's news offers tremendous value to customers looking to integrate with cloud orchestration. MEM is among the industry's first software-only virtual networking solutions to be certified with the Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 6. Red Hat's certification requires passing an extensive test suite to ascertain compatibility with OpenStack APIs and other functions implemented in Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 6.
Midokura is a proud participant of the Red Hat Connect for Technology Partners program, which connects business and technical resources to third-party technology companies who are aligning with Red Hat's OpenStack product offerings. Solutions that have achieved certification on Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 6, or are certified for other products in Red Hat's open hybrid cloud portfolio, are listed in the Red Hat Certified Solution Catalog.
