Narra Systems Reveals nDNA for Dynamic Asset Management and Tracking Across Globally Distributed Clouds -- Without RFID or Barcoding

New Solution Auto Discovers Device Attributes, Moves, Adds and Changes, Enabling Engineers and Lab Managers to Access, and Manage Devices in a Dynamic Test Environment

LAS VEGAS, NV -- (Marketwired) -- 04/27/15 -- Interop Las Vegas 2015, Booth #902, Mandalay Bay Convention Center - Narra Systems today announced enhancements to its nFast (Full Automation System Testing) platform to include nDNA (Discover Node Attributes). nDNA enables test lab personnel to dynamically track and manage their cloud-based device assets through a proprietary auto-discovering algorithm even down to -- detailed SFP information. The innovative process ensures device availability, limits idle time and reduces associated lab testing CAPEX/OPEX.

nDNA enhances Narra's nFast platform by enabling lab personnel to test particular device features or attributes vis-a-vis scouring an organization's global cloud environment to learn configurations/parameters and promote dynamic asset management and tracking. Now physical line card movement may be tracked from chassis to chassis, rack to rack and hybrid cloud to private cloud -- in real time -- without using RFID or barcodes eliminating the need for manual Excel documentation updates.

Today's news underscores the company's continued, strong momentum to revolutionize cloud-based resource management. nDNA builds upon Narra Systems' CLOUD-Control solution that provides a distributed resource management platform to support multiple web portals and deliver unprecedented control of devices across public, private, and hybrid clouds. Together, the solution portfolio of CLOUD-Control, nFAST and nDNA enables personnel in Development Labs, Support Labs, Solutions Labs, and Proof-Of-Concept (POC) Labs to:

  • Control Expenses - Reducing the number of resources, power consumption, and space required for all types of environments resulting in ≥50% CAPEX/OPEX savings.
  • Optimize Resources - Resourcing (test/generator/licenses) and reducing spending by 50% or more while increasing utilization visibility to make smarter purchasing decisions.
  • Increase Revenue - Providing a new source of revenue with customer-accessible Web portals for test lab automation via cloud orchestration to internal and external customers.

"In an effort to keep up with the ever-increasing amounts of data and bandwidth, corporations are moving to cloud-based networks to physically or virtually consolidate test labs and IT infrastructure," said Reuel Gatus, Founder and CEO. "Our new nDNA feature will promote agile DevOps in test labs by providing asset management and tracking information, down to the SFP, while increasing test velocity and reducing costly errors before they occur."
