OSHAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 05/01/15 -- Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac dealers delivered 29,127 vehicles in April 2015, an increase of 15 per cent from April 2014 making GM Canada as the overall automotive sales leader in Canada for the month of April.

John Roth, vice president, sales, service and marketing for GM Canada said, "Customer demand for our Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac cars and trucks continues to grow in the Canadian marketplace. Our three truck strategy, offering the full range of pickups, from the mid-size Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon to the full-size and heavy-duty, Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, to meet customers' varied needs, has driven GM Canada to be the pickup sales leader for the month of April."

GM customers are also now enjoying 4G LTE technology on more than 30 Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac vehicles, the largest deployment in the automotive industry. 4G offers mobile data speeds up to 10 times faster than 3G, allowing GM vehicles to act as Wi-Fi hot spots, allowing customers to connect up to seven different devices.

April 2015 Sales Highlights

--  Chevrolet total sales increased 7 per cent for the month driven by sales
    of the Malibu (up 98 per cent), Tahoe (up 92 per cent) and Suburban (up
    61 per cent), Chevrolet pickup sales were up 22 per cent driven by sales
    of the all new Colorado, the 2015 Motor Trend Truck of the Year 
--  Buick total sales increased 9 per cent for the month driven by sales of
    the Regal (up 271 per cent) and LaCrosse (up 21 per cent), Buick is the
    only car company to receive 5-star overall safety scores on its entire
    2015 lineup  
--  GMC total sales increased 31 per cent for the month driven by sales of
    the Acadia (up 42 per cent), Sierra (up 20 per cent), Yukon (up 119 per
    cent) and Yukon XL (up 77 per cent), the all new Canyon was recently
    named one of Ward's 10 Best Interiors for 2015 
--  Cadillac total sales increased 35 per cent for the month driven by sales
    of Cadillac SUVs (up 87 per cent), Escalade and SRX, April 2015 was
    Cadillac's best April sales in the brand's history
