SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 08/04/15 -- Dtex Systems, a global insider threat protection company, today announced the addition of FireEye's Jeff Williams, to the company's board of directors. Jeff is renowned for building and scaling the worldwide sales team at FireEye, leading the sales team from early stage through to a highly successful IPO in 2013. Dtex also welcomed former DOD CISO Robert Lentz, former Anaplan CFO Marc Stoll, former senior vice president of engineering and security research at FireEye, Bahman Mahbod, and former Telefonica chairman and CEO Antonio Viana-Baptista as strategic advisors. With the most lightweight and scalable insider threat solution available in the market, Dtex continues to expand its base of enterprise and government customers. The newly appointed advisors will help guide Dtex through the high-growth phase that it's currently experiencing as market demand increases for insider threat protection.
With more than 25 years of security and leadership experience, Williams brings a wealth of knowledge in enterprise-level security and will play a vital role on Dtex's Board, applying his vast experience in taking highly differentiated technologies to market at scale. Williams is currently the senior vice president of sales at FireEye, a leading cybersecurity organization dedicated to stopping advanced cyber attacks.
"The Dtex team has designed a solution that delivers total user visibility, baselining normal behavior to detect anomalies and suspicious activities for any type of insider threat," said Williams. "Having witnessed firsthand what this company is capable of, I'm confident they have the talent, vision and technology to defend organizations against the growing insider threat and I look forward to contributing to their future success."
The four new strategic advisors each bring a specific form of expertise that will help Dtex deliver on its aggressive growth strategy:
"Jeff's wisdom will be extremely valuable to the board as we continue to build an outstanding team to augment our technology and long-term vision, and we are thrilled to have four highly experienced tactical advisors in Bob, Mark, Bahman and Antonio. Together they provide an incredible brain-trust to build upon," said Mohan Koo, CEO of Dtex Systems. "As the insider threat market heats up, we'll lean on Jeff's incredible track record of coaching early-stage companies to break away from the crowded enterprise security space to emerge as the premier leader in the industry. Our strategic advisors will also play core roles in helping us successfully direct and execute on Dtex's mission to mitigate insider threat while protecting employee privacy."
"Dtex's 'trust but verify' approach has the potential to revolutionize the way that enterprises secure the endpoint," said Robert Lentz, President, Cyber Security Strategies. "As network perimeter solutions fail to deliver the crucial levels of security necessary for organizations, the endpoint has remained the final challenge for security professionals. Dtex's lightweight, scalable technology has cracked the code to insider threat protection and opened the door to people-centric analytics without compromising employee privacy."
With proven success in EMEA and APAC, Dtex recently relocated its corporate headquarters to Silicon Valley to support its rapid growth throughout the U.S. market. Dtex has spent 15 years developing the market's most lightweight and privacy-compliant endpoint security micro-agent. This unique technology gives enterprises an unmatched view into activity across the organization to quickly and effectively mitigate threats ranging from intellectual property theft, attacks launched by malicious insiders with access to internal systems, compromised credentials and accidental disclosure of sensitive materials by employees.
