COLORADO SPRINGS, CO -- (Marketwired) -- 08/27/15 -- The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA), a nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of storage and information technology, today announced its new Data Storage Security Summit, co-located with the Storage Developer Conference, to be held on September 24, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency in Santa Clara, CA.

SNIA's Data Storage Security Summit provides a unique venue for security experts to collaborate and discuss a number of ongoing projects within the data storage security space and their impact on today's storage security ecosystem.

This one-day conference will feature:

  • A series of attendee-interactive roundtable discussions led by SNIA and its industry alliance organizations, OASIS and the Fibre Channel Industry Association, that will discuss today's industry needs and future industry roadmaps
  • Two education tracks dedicated to today's hot topics related to data storage security basics, case studies, security standards overviews, and security best practices
  • Continuing Professional Education credits provided by the SNIA to attendees who currently hold either ISC2 or ISACA professional certifications.

"Today's IT infrastructure and business data is under a constant concern of cyber-threats and ever-changing set of industry regulatory requirements for data protection, privacy, and breach awareness. This requires more industry led-focus and requirements to improve data storage security," stated Eric Hibbard, SNIA Security Technical Work Group Chair. "SNIA's Data Storage Security Summit provides attendees the opportunity to learn, and gives the industry the opportunity to influence and prioritize future data security standards requirements and solutions."
