SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 07/01/15 -- Zscaler, the Internet security company, today announced that Forrester Research, Inc. has recognized Zscaler as a Leader in the SaaS Web Content Security market in the recently released report, The Forrester Wave: SaaS Web Content Security, Q2 2015. In the brand new report, Zscaler earned the highest scores of any company reviewed by Forrester in the following three categories evaluated: Current Offering, Strategy and Market Presence. As a part of preparing their analysis, Forrester analysts spoke with a number of large organizations using Zscaler and noted in the report that "customers had only good things to say about the [Zscaler] service..."
In the new report, Forrester urges organizations to consider shifting from traditional on-premises web gateways to a SaaS model. The report states, "On-premises web gateways are being disrupted, and the model of providing web content security is changing. The pace of technology change and evolving employee work habits are pushing on-premises gateways out of the picture. Forrester expects that, within the next three years, on-premises web gateway deployments will become the exception, not the rule."
"We are honored to be cited as a leader in Forrester's analysis of the Web Content Security market. We believe that Forrester has validated the shift in the market from hardware appliances to Security as a Service as organizations seek new ways to protect their employees in a mobile and cloud-first world," said Jay Chaudhry, Zscaler's CEO. "We witness this shift firsthand every day as more than 5,000 organizations have turned to Zscaler's cloud-based security platform to help make the Internet safe for business."
Zscaler has seen strong adoption of its cloud-based Internet security platform driven by industry shifts from hardware appliances to Security as a Service, as well as the convergence of point solutions into integrated platforms. According to Forrester, "Since its founding in 2008, Zscaler has found great success in its SaaS web content security business. Zscaler's vision is to provide security-as-a-service and has built its entire platform as such. The solution covers all the basics in threat detection, URL filtering, and application control, but also provides advanced malware analysis features such as sandboxing and emulation. Its range of traffic redirection options makes it easy to get traffic to the Zscaler cloud from a multitude of devices. Zscaler also has excellent integration capabilities with an exposed API and the ability to ingest threat intel."
