CloudFlare Was Ranked as a Leader With a Very Strong Global Presence and the Ability to Deliver Hybrid DDoS Solutions

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 08/05/15 -- CloudFlare, the leading Internet performance and security company, has been identified by Forrester Research, Inc. as a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: DDoS Services Providers, Q3 2015 report. CloudFlare's DDoS solutions received the highest possible scores for attack types defended, data/scrubbing center geographic presence, detection tactics, and SSL traffic inspection.

The report noted that CloudFlare boasts fast mitigation times, and that CloudFlare customers give the company high marks for service delivery. It also reports on CloudFlare's excellent capabilities to deliver hybrid DDoS solutions.

"DDoS attacks are only getting bigger and more complex. Traditional on-premise DDoS solutions can't adapt to the wide range of new attack vectors and are blatantly ineffective for attacks that exceed an organization's network capacity," said Matthew Prince, co-founder and CEO of CloudFlare, "We believe being recognized as a leader by Forrester is just another example that we're providing the most comprehensive offering to our customers. Keeping our customers online, during even the most vicious DDoS attacks, is all part of our goal to help build a better Internet for everyone."

Forrester evaluated all nine participating vendors based on criteria including current offering, strategy, and market presence. In order to be categorized as a leader, CloudFlare had to demonstrate the ability to defend against the largest DDoS attacks and indicate steady growth along with a focus on customer service.

CloudFlare's advanced DDoS protection can easily defend sites against the most sophisticated attacks including those that target the UDP and ICMP protocols, as well as SYN/ACK, DNS amplification and Layer 7 attacks. Unlike other common DDoS solutions such as firewalls, routers and load balancers, CloudFlare's advanced DDoS protection absorbs and stops the attack at CloudFlare's edge before it ever reaches a server. Once CloudFlare identifies a new threat, it blocks attacks for the affected site and for the entire community.
