With long road trips being a part of so many family plans, it is no wonder that sales at Volkswagen Canada during the month of July were as strong as they were. A total of 6,618 new cars and light trucks were sold by the company, many of which have likely already taken part in their first cross-country adventure. Year-to-date sales of 43,592 put the company on pace for yet another annual record and are 14% ahead of last year's total (38,322).

"We now offer so many choices for the Canadian family," stated Maria Stenstrom, President and CEO of Volkswagen Group Canada. "Gasoline and TDI Clean Diesel, along with Hybrid powertrains provide a compelling range of options for our consumers."

Sales of the Jetta compact sedan continue to lead the way at the company, with 2,631 sold during the month. The redesigned Golf family now joins the Jetta on the list of the top 10 selling cars in Canada. Sales of the hatchback Golf, GTI and Sportwagon, along with the fire-breathing, all-new, 2016 Golf R totaled 2,014, making it the fastest growing nameplate in Canada.
