OSLO, NORWAY and LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM and STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN and NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 08/25/15 -- Varnish Software, the company behind the web performance engine Varnish Cache, today announced that it has been cited in the August 4, 2015 Forrester Research, Inc. report "CDN And Digital Performance Vendor Landscape, Q3 2015" by analysts Mark Grannan with Ted Schadler and Kevin Driscoll. The Forrester report is written to help application development and delivery (AD&D) professionals pick the best content delivery network (CDN) and digital performance vendor.

The Forrester report includes a database of features, global capabilities, market presence, and commercial models for 24 vendors. It recommends that professionals consider three aspects of each offering: corporate profile and managed service capabilities, digital performance product capabilities and expertise, global presence and capabilities.

Varnish Software is the company behind Varnish Cache, a widely trusted open source web accelerator that significantly enhances web performance for businesses online. Varnish powers major sites across all industry types -- for businesses such as New York Times, Nikon, Transport for London, The White House and Vimeo as well as more than 2.2 million websites worldwide.

Varnish Plus is a commercial suite of Varnish Software's subscription offerings and professional services bundled into one package. Varnish Plus is designed to meet the most demanding scalability, customization, monitoring and expert support services of today's infrastructures with the flexibility and scale to meet the challenges of tomorrow.

"Varnish Software is happy to be included in Forrester's 'CDN and Digital Performance Vendor Landscape, Q3 2015' report," said Per Buer, CTO and Founder of Varnish Software. "We believe that this is a valuable resource for AD&D professionals whether they are seeking to find a new CDN vendor or simply wish to benchmark an existing provider with the leaders in this market."

Varnish also recently introduced the Varnish API Engine, a tool for webscale API initiatives that allows management of all APIs through one central point. Varnish API Engine's core functionality is to authorize access to a website's APIs after authenticating the client requesting access. What makes Varnish API Engine different from other API Management tools is that it can run these processes both fast and at a high rate -- managing up to 20,000 API calls per second.
