MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 08/27/15 -- Axcient, the leader in cloud-based Recovery-as-a-Service (RaaS), today announced that Druva, the leader in converged data protection, has licensed its application-aware granular recovery technology for Microsoft Outlook. Axcient Granular Recovery technology will be leveraged by Druva's inSync endpoint and cloud data protection solution, assisting in improving the understanding of Microsoft Outlook .PST files during the legal review process.
In an age when businesses are expected to be "always-on," any prolonged service downtime is detrimental to productivity within a company. Whether it's at a global enterprise with thousands of employees or a small business with remote offices, all need to have their core information systems running and available at all times. Axcient's technology is designed to minimize downtime and keep systems and people running smoothly in case of an IT interruption, whether it be the loss of a laptop at the airport or major server failure in the data center. Axcient Granular Recovery is a key feature of Axcient's platform that allows these organizations to protect and restore individual objects from popular applications such as Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Exchange from a single image snapshot.
Druva brings data center class availability and governance to the mobile workforce. Druva inSync transparently collects enterprise data across end-user devices and cloud services, including Office 365, to enable backup and recovery, archiving and data governance capabilities to address global data regulations and legal requirements. Axcient's technology allows organizations to read and write granular objects including messages, contacts and calendar items both to and from .PST files in both Windows and Linux environments without the aid of MAPI, a key and unique feature to Axcient.
"RaaS is no longer a luxury in business, it's an absolute necessity," said Todd Scallan, VP, Products and Engineering, Axcient. "At Axcient we have worked hard to provide the best, fastest and most flexible solutions for businesses of all sizes. We are excited for Druva to license our Microsoft Outlook file restoration technology."
"As the #1-rated endpoint data protection by leading analysts, inSync is trusted by over 3,000 enterprises protecting more than 3 million endpoints," said Scott Siragusa, VP Global Business Development & Channels, Druva. "Restoration of large .PST files has always been problematic. Axcient's Granular Recovery technology offers yet another way for customers to improve their understanding of Microsoft Outlook files during this process."
