Peterson has over 25 years of experience empowering technologies to become market leaders by accelerating sales performance, sales process and multi-channel execution. He joins Niara from Cisco-acquired Sourcefire and is responsible for Niara's sales strategy.

Prior to Niara, Peterson successfully led three organizations at the senior staff level to acquisitions by companies like Cisco Systems, Hewlett-Packard, and McAfee. He managed global channels for Sourcefire, now a part of Cisco, designing and executing channel programs, including the introduction of new initiatives like the Global Security Alliance Channel Program. Under his leadership, Sourcefire's Global Channel and Distribution strategy grew from inception to $260 million in revenue. Peterson has been recognized as a CRN Channel Chief for four consecutive years (2009 to 2013) for his ability to lead businesses to become market leaders.

A recent report showed that while attackers successfully compromise their victim within minutes 60 percent of the time, the proportion of breaches discovered within days is dramatically less. Legacy tools are simply not meeting the demands of the evolving threat landscape, as attacks are growing more covert and sophisticated.
