SANTA ANA, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 08/04/15 -- Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM) today announced it has been selected as an Aggregator for VMware vCloud Air Network Managed Service Provider (MSP) in the U.S. market.
According to Gartner, the public cloud services market is predicted to exceed $244B by 2017.(1) Ingram Micro channel partners can now take advantage of this fast-growing market through the VMware vCloud Air Network Program. The new VMware vCloud Air Network Managed Service Provider model allows Ingram Micro to further enable and accelerate the growth of its vCloud Air Network Service Providers by making it easier to sell managed services hosted on VMware vCloud Air.
"The sales and recurring revenue opportunity around virtualization, hosting third party applications, infrastructure, cloud-based solutions and other advanced managed services is sizable for channel partners focused on the needs of small and midsize businesses and enterprises," said Jason Bystrak, executive director, Ingram Micro Cloud. "As a strategic VMware business partner and Aggregator for VMware vCloud Air Network Service Providers, Ingram Micro is well positioned to help MSPs unleash their potential, close more business and realize greater recurring revenues selling their managed services and supporting VMware vCloud Air."
Designed to help MSPs increase revenues and grow their cloud business, the VMware vCloud Air Network MSP model enables Service Providers to add incremental data by leveraging VMware as an extension of their own infrastructure. Through the additional datacenter capabilities provided by VMware, MSPs can quickly expand their geographic footprint, gain additional managed services revenue, grow a comprehensive portfolio of cloud offerings, increase speed to market, and serve more clients.
In support of its VMware channel partners, Ingram Micro offers a dedicated team of VMware- and cloud-specific sales, marketing and technical support personnel, as well as field-based experts, professional services and advanced training and certification courses. Channel partners can also take advantage of the Ingram Micro VMware Volume Licensing Desk and Renewals Services to more proactively address opportunities, increase efficiency and maximize revenue potential.
"Ingram Micro enjoys a well-documented history of success with VMware and as a master cloud services provider (mCSP) s enabling channel partners to transform their businesses and Realize the Promise of Technology," said Tim Ament, senior vice president, Ingram Micro Advanced Solutions. "We're pleased to be one of the first Aggregators named in the VMware vCloud Air Network Managed Service Provider model, and will continue to invest in the dedicated VMware- and cloud-focused resources channel partners need to shorten the sales cycle and capitalize on the growing demand for cloud services and virtualized solutions."
"We are pleased to announce that Ingram Micro has expanded its Aggregator capabilities by offering service providers the opportunity to leverage vCloud Air through the VMware vCloud Air Network Program," said Geoff Waters, vice president of service provider channel, Cloud Services Business Unit, VMware. "Since 2008, VMware has been working with channel partners to provide customers a simple and flexible path to the cloud. We are pleased to name Ingram Micro as one of the first Aggregators in this new program, which is designed to help service providers differentiate their businesses through managed services."
The VMware vCloud Air Network provides organizations with VMware-based enterprise-class security and infrastructure compatibility and the freedom to readily move workloads among private, public and hybrid clouds. Using proven VMware technology customers already use in their existing data centers, VMware vCloud Air Network Service Providers can accelerate their business growth by offering customers trusted and secure public and hybrid cloud services, along with managed services.
