NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 02/17/15 -- White Ops, a pioneer in online fraud detection, today announced that Gian Lombardi has joined the company as Chief Revenue Officer. Lombardi begins immediately and reports to White Ops President and COO Eddie Schwartz.

Joining on the heels of breakout performance in 2014, Lombardi brings 20 years of marketing and sales leadership experience to White Ops, and an impressive track record for accelerating and managing high revenue growth. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of eastern sales at YuMe, a provider of digital video brand advertising, where he built the company's highest performing sales team from the ground up, and advanced his region from pre-revenue to an annual run rate of more than $92M, enabling a successful IPO. For White Ops, Lombardi will be responsible for developing and managing a growth strategy that continues both to drive White Ops success in combatting fraud in the digital advertising market, and also providing an optimal route into other market sectors.

"With such a massive market opportunity and strong demand for White Ops in the digital advertising space, we need to expand our team quickly and continue to build key industry partnerships," said Lombardi. "The White Ops security experts and unique technology represent a rare combination that has the ability to disrupt the competitive balance in multiple markets. I am excited by the challenge, the potential, and the chance to be a part of this team."

Lombardi began his career in online advertising in 1995 in the New York sales office of Wired Magazine and the Hotwired website, the Internet's first ad-supported website. He also worked at Firefly Networks, an early pioneer in the area of social media and recommendation engines, which was acquired by Microsoft. Prior to YuMe, he served as vice president of national sales at PointRoll, where he established the company as the leading player in the rich media space. He also has held key sales positions at Maven Networks, a video player and CMS solution company that was acquired by Yahoo!, and DoubleClick, a subsidiary of Google that develops and provides Internet ad serving services. Lombardi received a B.A. in Philosophy from Colgate University.

"White Ops has come out of the gate harder and with more explosive potential than any company with which I have been associated," said Schwartz. "This growth results from a team with a vision and track record for precipitating fundamental change in whatever challenge they tackle. A power player in his own right, Gian will augment a formidable sales team and amplify our market impact."

White Ops offers the world's first systematic, massively scalable, continuous anti-fraud solution for accurately isolating and eliminating bot-infected traffic. By applying the frictionless and invisible techniques of Side Channel Analysis across thousands of real-time user session variables, White Ops differentiates between a human and machine-driven request, across the full spectrum of impression and click fraud techniques -- regardless of the sophistication of the bot programmer and their attempts to adapt and evade. This agile and deterministic approach is vastly more advanced and effective than methods generally employed by legacy fraud detection services, which rely largely on historical data and statistical and predictive analysis to estimate bot activity.

About White Ops
White Ops is a pioneer in the detection of and systematic defense against bot and malware fraud, providing advertisers and Enterprise businesses with the tools they need to eliminate fraud, raise their bottom lines and ensure the success of their campaigns and the security of their systems and data. White Ops' leading-edge technology combats criminal activity in a significantly different and more comprehensive way than any method currently on the market. White Ops differentiates between bot and human interaction in online advertising and publishing, Enterprise business networks, e-commerce transactions, financial systems and more, allowing clients to remove and prevent fraudulent traffic and activity. By working with clients to cut off sources of bad traffic, White Ops makes bot and malware fraud unprofitable and unsustainable for the cyber criminals who ultimately profit from it -- an economic strategy that will eventually eradicate this type of fraud.
