SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 03/17/15 -- Midokura, a global startup focused on network virtualization, today announced expansion of its partner ecosystem as it joins the Redapt OpenStack Cloud Practice. The move furthers Midokura's commitment to providing enterprises with the best in engineering expertise for the design and deployment of OpenStack clouds.
With the OpenStack project now hitting its five-year mark, nearly two-thirds of users recently surveyed by the OpenStack Foundation still have concerns about OpenStack Neutron. As it is evident that OpenStack users continue to need support when deploying Neutron, Midokura addresses this demand by providing 24/7 white glove support -- from product evaluation to finish. The new partnership marks yet another step for Midokura as it broadens its reach in offering best-in-breed support to Redapt customers.
"Choosing partners that have been through several OpenStack releases dramatically reduces the learning curve for our customers in their private and hybrid cloud deployments," said Adam Johnson, VP of business, Midokura. "We're impressed with Redapt's commitment to the MidoNet project as they've quickly trained and certified their best-in-class cloud professionals on our MidoNet Enterprise MidoNet (MEM) network virtualization technology. We are delighted to expand Midokura's delivery partner ecosystem with an exceptional and experienced provider like Redapt, who was named Dell's 'Enterprise Solution Provider' for 2014."
As enterprises continue to realize the benefits of moving to the cloud, many are finding that the journey can be disruptive to business and IT. Given this, it is important to control downside costs and risks that can outweigh the benefits. Enter MEM, which offers enterprises a smooth transition while also bridging their existing virtualization technologies, including vSphere, with cloud orchestration solutions, such as OpenStack.
With today's news, customers will benefit from Redapt's wide experience in designing and deploying OpenStack clouds, in addition to awesome, around-the-clock support from Midokura. By adding the power of Midokura's disruptive network virtualization technology, customers can complete their OpenStack solutions without any compromise to performance or stability. MEM replaces the default OVS plugin with a stable, production-hardened alternative that is already embraced by the DevOps culture in enterprises, webscale companies, and also service providers.
The news comes on the heels of Midokura's latest release of MEM last month, along with its inclusion in the Dell Open Networking initiative in December. Midokura offers a free 30-day software evaluation that includes enterprise-grade 24/7 support, documentation, hardened packages and the MidoNet Manager (GUI).
