The viral vector production and purification processes are widely divided through the use of different technologies and tools available across industries. Therefore, a platform approach will be beneficial for harmonizing production processes for multiple viral vectors, which will help in optimized manufacturing efforts, thus reducing the cost of goods for manufacturing. Adeno-associated virus (AAV) and Lentivirus (LV) are two major viral vectors being used for in-vivo and ex-vivo gene therapies respectively, which have unique manufacturing challenges of their own.
